Without pause for apology, or political correctness, the photo is undoubtedly the first thing 90% of members of any singles site would look for when browsing through member-profiles. That's the fact of cyber life. So, it's no real surprise to us at itzamatch.com that member-profiles with photos get ten to fifteen times the interest and contact that those without usually get (if they do, get any). Include a photo in your profile but beware: Some photos do more harm than good as they may not show you in the best way. It's very important that you choose your photos with taste and style.
Use a Realistic Photo
Use a current photo that does not misrepresent you. Avoid using cartoons or objects, or worse, other people's photos! When choosing a photo, use quality close-up shots (Head and shoulders) that show you looking happy. Photos sell online, just as they do in the real world. So choose a photo where you are smiling and appear approachable. Never use photos that show you frowning or that were taken when you were not in the mood. They just might drive people away.
Use a Recent, But Flattering Photo
Never use a photo that was taken years ago when you looked different and which looks nothing like you do now. Our itzamatch members who include photos generally generate more interest and emails than those who only submit a written profile.
Post at least One Photo
If you don't have suitable photos, have a few taken, keeping in mind to put your best features forward. If you have photos but can't decide which ones to use, ask friends to pick out photos that they think would look great. Make sure people don't have to squint at the screen to see what you look like, and be sure to smile!
